Home | Medical Need | R&D Programmes | Company | Collaborations | News | Collaborations on four continents   Rather than investing heavily in its own infrastructure, Northern Antibiotics outsources a significant part of its laboratory research activities to academic groups and contract research organizations, each world-renowned in its own field of expertise. Right now we have more than a dozen major projects running in eight different countries. Our lead compounds are synthesized in gram quantities by a contract manufacturing organization having operations in both Europe and the U.S.A. and being capable of eventual full-scale GMP production. One of our research collaborators is National Center for Antimicrobials and Infection Control, Statens Serum Institut, Copenhagen, Denmark. Professor Niels Frimodt-Møller, M.D., Ph.D., and Dr. Carina Vingsbo Lundberg, Ph.D., have proven the ability of our lead compounds to inhibit the growth of a highly virulent E. coli strain in a mouse peritonitis model.
